"I’d Rather be Playing Basketball" - 5th Annual Nexus Basketball Tournament

Thursday, August 11, 2016

Felt really comfortable with the counsellor, who was awesome! Felt safe to speak the truth without being judged.
Word on the street is that Nexus Youth Services’ annual basketball tournament is back again this August! Now in its fifth year, the tournament continues to have a positive impact on the community, bringing together youth, Mississauga Security/Transit Enforcement, Peel Regional Police, the Peel S.W.A.G. program and Raptors 905. By bridging the gap between youth and community leaders like the police through basketball, the tournament creates a safe, relaxed environment that brings everyone together, all while having fun.

Taking place once again in Celebration Square, the tournament will be held on Tuesday, August 23rd from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Players can register at 4 p.m. and the friendly competition will kick off at 4:30 p.m. Court time will include a dunk-off contest and a 5-on-5 tournament, and players will enjoy complimentary food, drinks and prizes throughout the evening. Special thanks to Maple Lodge Farms for their generous donation to this event.
