Could understand what I was going through and made me feel good and that it was okay to have [those feelings]. Made me laugh and understand my feelings in a different way.

10 Free Mental Health Apps for Your Smartphone

Tuesday, October 15, 2013

Have you been looking for a smartphone app to help you meditate, track your mood or simply cope with your mental health challenges? Our friends at PsychCentral.com recently published a list of the top 10 mental health apps -- and best of all, they're free!

Among the top 10 are PTSD Coach, a military app designed to help individuals coping with combat-related post-traumatic stress, as well as Previdence and MindShift, two apps that can help you cope with the symptoms of anxiety and depression. If you're looking for help sleeping, check out Relax and Sleep Well with Glenn Harold, and if meditation is the name of the game, Take a Break! offers a number of short guided meditations to help you calm your mind.

You can read more about these apps at PsychCentral's blog. Have you come across any other helpful mental health apps? Tweet us @YouthNexus or drop us a line on Facebook to add to this list!
