​What is #GivingTuesdayCA?

If you’ve been following us on Twitter and Facebook for the last little while, you may have noticed we’ve been promoting something called #GivingTuesdayCA, and you may be wondering what exactly that means. 

#GivingTuesdayCA is a national social media initiative that unites volunteers, donors, and charitable organizations for the common goal raising money and awareness for good causes in communities across Canada. It’s a response to two of the busiest shopping days of the year – Black Friday and Cyber Monday – because instead of spending money on gifts for yourself, your family and friends, #GivingTuesdayCA encourages you to give back to others through your favourite charities. 

Nexus Youth Services is proud to be an official partner of #GivingTuesdayCA, and our youth are excited to showcase all of the ways they give back to Nexus through their time, creativity and innovative ideas. Check our Twitter and Facebook pages over the next few days to learn more about all the ways Nexus partners with youth to make our tagline, “For You, With You”, ring true. 

Interested in becoming involved yourself? You don’t need to be a client of Nexus Youth Services to help make our #GivingTuesdayCA campaign more meaningful. The quickest and easiest way is to tell us why you give to Nexus Youth Services, or how you think Nexus gives to others. Tell us on Facebook or tweet about it on Twitter -- be sure to use the #GivingTuesdayCA and #iGive2Nexus hashtags + tag @YouthNexus!

Update: Nov. 28, 2013 -- On November 25th, GivingTuesday.ca announced that INTERAC will match donations made on December 3rd, up to $5,000!
