It was excellent because it was more then I expected and I have gained a lot from volunteering here.
The FACES Collaborative is currently conducting research on the Black community in Peel, with a specialized focus on youth. The Collaborative is currently conducting focus group sessions and interviews with social services workers, youth, and those individuals working with the Black community.

On Friday, August 29th at 2 p.m., Nexus Youth Services is hosting a focus group for youth to better understand the issues and barriers that face Black youth in our community. To participate, please contact Darren Dennie at ddennie (at) nexusyouth (dot) ca or call 905-566-1883.

This research is being conducted according to the Youth Participatory Action Research methodology, which means that interviews and focus groups will be conducted by youth from the community who are trained in fieldwork, anti-oppression and community engagement strategies.

Lead organizations for this Collaborative include the United Way of Peel Region, Social Planning Council of Peel and Peel Children's Aid Society. Dr. Grace-Edward Galabuzi from Ryerson University as well as Dr. Carl James of York University are also part of this project.
