Nexercise (Mondays, 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.)
The focus on health and fitness continues at Nexus. After a brief hiatus, Nexercise is back in full force! We have once again partnered with the City of Mississauga to help you get inspired and strengthen your mind and body through exercise programs developed by a certified personal trainer. PLEASE NOTE: This group meets at the Nexus Youth Centre and heads over to the Mississauga Civic Centre gym at 6:15 p.m. sharp.

Talk That Talk (Triple T) (Tuesdays, 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.) -- ON HOLD UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
In this group, youth will learn concrete skills related to managing stress and anxiety; developing healthy relationships; and supporting their physical wellness through healthy eating and living habits. Youth will learn how to create healthy meals, discuss life planning/goals, and learn strategies to manage stressful situations at home, at school and with their peers.

Project Leadership Group (Nexus Youth Council) (Wednesdays, 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.)
The Nexus Youth Council is a collective movement that promotes leadership skills and civic engagement. Members of the Nexus Youth Council will:
  • Discover ways to promote civic engagement, mental health awareness and positive peer relationships
  • Build new and existing leadership skills by creating and engaging in community events
  • Create opportunities for youth projects and workshops that will support the needs of youth in their school, as well as in the community

Girls Night In (Wednesays, 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.)
Girls Night In is a 13-week program that aims to empower young women to become community and world changers. Participants will be encouraged to make new friends, have fun, attend cool events and build self-confidence in a positive, accepting and open-minded environment that fosters conversations that all girls can relate to. Through one-on-one mentorship, interactive and fun workshops and other opportunities, this group empowers young women to reach their full potential while developing skills for their future.

Posi-Talks (by appointment)
Sometimes we all need someone to speak to about the ups and downs of life. Posi-Talks is a 30 to 45 minute mentoring session with one of our Youth Engagement Workers at Nexus. Whether you need help finding a job, figuring out the next steps for your life, or just talking through everyday stress and concerns, we’re here to be a source of support, without judgement. To set up an appointment, please speak to a member of the Nexus Youth Centre team or call 905-566-1883.

* Bus tickets are made available upon request, while quantities last.
