21 Comics That Capture the Frustrations of Depression

They took time to understand how I felt and what I needed. They respected me and were very nice.
This week, one of our awesome counsellors Andria stumbled across a great article on BuzzFeed highlighting some comic strips that deal with the frustrations of living with depression. In addition to the physical and emotional symptoms of depression, the creators of these comic strips also tackle problems like friends dismissing depression as a "phase", feeling alone and isolated, and presenting a false happiness to the people around you while secretly suffering. These comics are not intended to make light of the often harsh realities of living with depression; rather, they seek to raise awareness about depression and how it affects the lives of those living with it.

You can read all 21 comic strips here on BuzzFeed.
