(Mississauga, Ontario) – Today Nexus Youth Services, a social service agency specializing in youth mental health, hosted a community celebration to launch its new and refreshed brand.
The celebration, which featured youth who played an active role in developing the new brand, demonstrated Nexus’ commitment to youth engagement.
Nexus’ new tagline, For You. With You. speaks to how Nexus works with youth to develop its services. “Nexus involves youth in meaningful ways in all major decisions that impact them,” said Humphrey Mitchell, Nexus’ Executive Director.
“We work with youth to create a safe, relaxing and respectful environment that celebrates youth culture in all its diversity. Youth’s energy and expertise help us develop services that are right for them,” Mitchell said.
Nexus’ new logo, with clean, modern lines, includes a stylized “n” icon that resembles a person, demonstrating the agency’s youth services mission.
Nexus also launched its new website (www.nexusyouth.ca) and video at the celebration. The video, which Nexus youth helped to design, features several youth who participate in Nexus’ services.
In keeping with youth’s use of social media, Nexus made its first foray into the world of social media, livetweeting throughout the event (#nexuslaunch). Nexus has also established its presence on Facebook and YouTube, with a blog coming in the near future.
At the celebration, Mitchell thanked the many people who have contributed to the brand launch, including Nexus’ Youth Engagement Working Group, a group of youth who participate in Nexus’ Community Counselling program or the Nexus Youth Centre.
He also thanked Fingerprint Communications, the company that created the brand, and Logograph, the company that created the website and video, as well as staff who supported the rebranding process.
